This announcement is for informational purposes only. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), International Contracts Branch, Atlanta, GA, intends to award, on a sole source basis, firm fixed-price purchase order the University of Victoria, Victoria, British Columbia to perform Annotation of Poxvirus Genome Sequence services.

This action is for the purchase of services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1).Division of High Consequence Pathogens and Pathology Interested parties may identify their interests and capabilities to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This is a notice of intent and not a request for proposals. Analysis and annotation of poxvirus genome data requires a custom DNA sequence annotation pipeline with several specific software programs which available at the University of Victoria. It is believed that the University is the only source available to provide these services at a level of quality required to successfully continue scientific efforts of the CDC, Division of High Consequence Pathogens and Pathology. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS Code is 621511. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Information furnished shall include enough detail information to allow the government to perform a proper evaluation. Respondents will not be notified of the evaluation results. Responses by Facsimile (Fax) will not be accepted. All vendors/prospective contractors must be registered with the System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) prior to award date. If not registered or active by that date, vendor proposals will be considered non-responsive. Receipt of proposals shall be within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis.
