Overview: The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids to furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary to remove and dispose of approximately 6000 gallons of existing glycol fluid. The disposal of the liquid will need to be disposed of offsite properly per state compliant procedures. Replacement glycol solution to meet the following requirements: Inhibited propylene glycol and water solution mixed 25 percent glycol 75 percent water, suitable for operating temperatures from 15 degrees F to 200 degrees F. Work to be done during regular working days and hours M - F 7:00 - 5:00 PM by licensed geothermal companies. Work to be done during a seasonal time frame when heating/cooling won't be needed. After solution has been replaced contractor to ensure system is working day of and week after and to coordinate with Johnson Controls as needed. The project period is to begin on or after contract award; with substantial completion on or before October 1, 2021. Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. All questions related to this project are to be submitted through the IONwave Bid system through the cut off period for question submissions. There is no pre-bid meeting scheduled at this time. Interested bidders can schedule a site visit with the Purchasing Agent listed on the solicitation via email @ [email protected]. The Iowa DOT is exempt from sales tax. Sales tax is not to be included in your bid amount.
