Any information received is considered market research and may be utilized by the Air Force in developing its acquisition strategy. This market research will be used to assess the availability and adequacy of potential sources. The Government will not respond or conduct formal or informal briefings to vendors or respondents to this RFI. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any costs associated with submission of information being requested/received, nor reimburse expenses incurred to interested parties for responses to this RFI. RESPONSES TO THIS RFI WILL NOT BE RETURNED. 1.0 Description The Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) in support of the AFLCMC/HBSB office is seeking information from interested contractors to provide AN/APX-103 IFF circuit card support as described in Section 2, for AWACS Block 40/45. 2.0 DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT/GENERAL INFORMATION 2.1 Introduction: This effort is to provide support necessary to modify/upgrade AWACS Block 30/35 Identification Friend/Foe (IFF) legacy system components to support AWACS Block 40/45 IFF system requirements. Specific components are outlined in paragraph 2 below. 2.2 The contractor shall provide the following: 2.2.1 Receive, via Government Furnished Property (GFP), the following legacy AWACS Block 30/35 IFF Components: Part Number Noun Cage Qty *525607-4 Radar Target Data Processor (APX-103C) 64694 Up to 1 525617-4 SIF Reply Detection Unit (SIF RDU) 64694 Up to 12 525635-4 System Interface Unit CCA (SIU) 64694 Up to 12 * Part Number 525607-4 may not be required as part of this potential acquisition 2.2.2 Ensure the components identified above are serviceable. 2.2.3 Modify the components identified in paragraph 2.1 to the following P/N's to support AWACS block 40/45 requirements: Part Number Noun Cage Qty *525607-45 Radar Target Data Processor (APX-103E) 64694 Up to 1 525617-45 SIF Reply Detection Unit (SIF RDU) 64694 Up to 12 525635-45 System Interface Unit CCA (SIU) 64694 Up to 12 * Part Number 525607-45 may not be required as part of this potential acquisition If any respondent can only perform either the circuit card or RTDP upgrade, it is requested that a capability statement still be submitted, in the event that one of the other requirements is no longer needed. 3.0 Responses 3.1 Respondents to this RFI should provide capability statements as qualified prospective vendors capable of providing the requirements that support the aforementioned objectives. The total number of pages for responses shall not exceed five (5) 8.5x11 inch, single spaces, single sided pages in length. If any respondent does not currently have a Proprietary Information Agreement (PIA) that would permit the AWACS support contractor listed below to review and evaluate capability statements submitted in response to this RFI, the respondent should request a PIA from the Contracting Officer to execute with Jacobs Technology for this purpose.
