The AN/APR-39 RSDS (hereto for called RSDS) is a passive radar warning system that receives, processes, and displays threat information resulting from aircraft illumination by radar guided systems.  The system is a component of the Army's Suite of Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) and is used to protect Department of Defense (DoD) rotary-wing and fixed‐wing aircraft.  The RSDS is vital to force protection and provides warnings to pilots of threats from surface‐to‐air missiles, air‐to‐air missiles, and anti‐aircraft artillery. The RSDS has growth potential to augment the passive situational awareness information with active countermeasures.
