The Library of Congress National Audio-Visual Conservation Cneter (NAVCC) in Culpeper, Virginia operates a video laboratory that converts analog tapes to digital files. The Library is in need of an additional 2'' Quadruplex Videotape recorder. The NAVCC has several non-working Ampex AVR-2 VTRs currently and is seeking an additional working unit. Since this VTR is no longer made and parts are scarce, two (2) non-working AVR-2s are available to trade in exchange for one (1) working unit.
The Library will ship two (2) non-working, but complete, Ampex AVR-2 VTRs to the contractor. In return, the contractor will ship to the Library one (1) working Ampex AVR-2 which has been refurbished to factory original specifications. This VTR will be employed for playback only. Record and editing functions are superfluous and undesirable. Scopes and monitors will be provided by the Library. Installation and integration at the Library is outside the scope of this contract.
