Valley Water requires experienced, and qualified environmental consulting firms to provide environmental consulting services to support the Almaden Calero Canal Improvements and Canal Maintenance Program Environmental Services Project. Project Objectives: A. Repair and improve Almaden Calero Canal to restore conveyance capacity and operational reliability so that water can be transferred in accordance with Valley Water’s existing water rights. B. Maintain the structural and functional integrity of operable canals and adjoining facilities. C. Reduce canal maintenance and repair costs and minimize liability risk by facilitating the timely completion of routine preventative maintenance. D. Protect public health and safety, Valley Water assets, and private property from damage associated with flooding, erosion, and slope failure. E. Repair and maintain operable and inoperable canals in a manner that minimizes impacts to or avoids sensitive biological resources.
