The following are the salient characteristics for Vision System.
a. Must FDA Approved
b. Controllable fluidic environment during lens removal/cataract surgery & implantation of the intraocular lens (IOL).
c. Capable of setting a target intraocular pressure (IOP) using a bag and pump system to adjust fluid compression. Systems using gravity fluidics and/or pressurized irrigation fluidics will be found technically unacceptable.
d. Allow the surgeon to compensate for patient eye level, monitor aspiration flow rate, infusion pressure, and vacuum to adjust for pressure changes during surgery.
e. Allow surgeons to set the time in which the system will reach targeted IOP.
f. Shall allow surgeons to set factors to compensate for tip/sleeve selections.
g. Utilize computer software and a graphical user interface (GUI) for the setting of target IOP and related adjustments.
h. Wireless foot pedal to prevent damage when beds and chairs are moved during surgery and when other services are in the operating rooms.
2) Hand Piece Shall:
a. Be for the purpose of cataract emulsification.
b. Utilize torsional technology for the application of energy.
c. Have a Luer lock and a tip bevel alignment.
It is anticipated that the proposed this equipment will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract. The proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing, FSC - 6515, Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment and Supplies, with a corresponding size standard of 1,000 employees.
