The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Indian Energy, is considering acquiring a Katmai Sponsorship of the 2017 AFN Convention by awarding a sole source purchase order to The Alaska Federation of Natives. The 2017 Convention takes place in Fairbanks Alaska on October 19-21, 2017. The Katmai sponsorship provides DOE one speaking opportunity at the event and 8 x 10 booth to inform the public and other entities of the mission of the Office of Indian Energy and the programs we provide. The Office of Indian Energy will also be acknowledged from the podium during plenary sessions and be provided a half page ad in the AFN convention guide. The DOE is using exemption to competition 6.302-1(a) (2), One Responsible Source. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available for this requirement. If a firm believes the DOE should not pursue this sole source procurement with The Alaska Federation of Natives, then they should submit a capability statement by 4 pm. EST August 2, 2017 to [email protected]. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This Notice of Intent does NOT commit the Government to any type of contractual agreement.
