The purpose of the project is to get an AFIS Fingerprint Management system replacement and consider other vendors through the RFP process rather than simply upgrading with the current vendor via a single source contract. The primary objectives are to replace non-supported components and software, cut maintenance costs and consider options involving cloud-based solutions in addition to in-house hardware purchases with their cost and support needs.
