This requirement is for exact replacement of worn and or damaged workstations for standardization of with identical fit and function to “plug in” where old ones are removed. The existing infrastructure of the operational floor of Building 37 already supports 72 existing AFC Industries Crew workstation desks. This purchase supports the replacement of nine systems due to wear and tear of the equipment. The purchase of equipment other than the AFC Industries crew workstation desk would result in an incompatible setup and layout of the operation floor in support of the Distributed Ground Station Mission by the 181 ISRG and could result in a cost of at least $850,000 should the AFC Industries standard not be maintained. By purchasing AFC Industries Crew workstation desks, the government would save money in the long run and reduce the downtime and maintenance cost of installation of different equipment.
