INVENTION SUMMARY:
The Advanced Outage Control Software displays an outage dashboard to graphically represent the current status of the refueling outage and provides predictions for completion of bulk work. The software takes previous outage schedule data to compute several productivity metrics; includes algorithms for predicting outage completion time for bulk work; produces a confidence factor for completing on-time; and displays critical path progress, key performance indicators, and management notices. The dashboard is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of current outage performance. The use of historical outage performance to compare to current outage performance is a new concept. The use of a completion confidence factor that incorporates comparisons of work completed and work remaining is a new concept. The dashboard predicts completion of the current outage work based on remaining activities and man-hours compared to historical performance. This software generates a large format dashboard for monitoring work completion during a nuclear power plant refueling outage. The software was designed using advanced data visualization techniques that enhance human cognition. The dashboard uses historical outage data to predict work scope growth, compare to current performance and predict bulk work completion. The dashboard also displays critical path information and other key performance indicators. The dashboard is designed to present the user with a complete picture of the current status of the refueling outage and support critical decisions.
