ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY TOMOGRAPHY (ERT) CABLE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT FROM A SINGLE SOURCE This is a notice of intent to solicit from a single source for the US Geological Survey, Pacific Coastal & Marine, Santa Cruz, CA. This notice of intent to solicit is Subject to the Availability of Funds. The US Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a Purchase Order to Advanced Geosciences, Inc in Austin, Texas for one Advanced Geosciences, Inc Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) Cable as they're the only one because the cable has to support our gov't-owned AGI Multi-Electrode Switchbox, AGI SuperSting Instrument Console, and software. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. See the following Salient Characteristics: General Cable Specifications: - waterproof, multi-conductor cables used for resistivity - induced polarization (IP) and self-potential measurements. -passive electrode cables that are designed graphite electrode takeouts (U.S. Patent 6,674,286) encapsulated in polyurethane that is chemically bonded to the outer cable jacket - largely noise free in liquid environments - Unique in tensile strength of 1600LBS which allows them to be pulled. - Lightweight - Usable in saltwater, freshwater, the muddy environment in the boreholes, lake, dam, canal, marine investigations. -Shipping cost to 2885 Mission Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060 Technical Specifications: -The ERT cable is a Marine- borehole-leak detection cable that has: -56 AGI graphite electrodes (US patent 6,674,286) -2 meter electrode spacing -AGI marine-borehole jacket type cable with Kevlar strength member and water block -20 meter lead-in -0.2 meter tail with anchor point -Anchor point next to electrode 1, next to tail and 5 meter from the connector. -Terminated via single male 61-pin connector. -A lightweight of 56.5 lbs. Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 entitled, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The USGS requires a replacement ERT cable that supports the Advanced Geosciences, Inc. (AGI) Multi-Electrode Switchbox and AGI SuperSting Instrument Console and software already in possession at the USGS' Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center.
