The U.S. Coast Guard, Naval Engineering Division, 300 East Main Street, Norfolk, Va has a requirement to purchase AZIPOD parts for the USCGC MACKINAW (WLBB 30), home ported in Cheboygan, MI. The Azipods installed aboard the vessel were installed by ABB, Inc. and are a sole source company for the Azipods. The parts are as follows: Slewing Bearing 3AFV5900579. This is a Notice of Intent, not a solicitation. No solicitation will be issued for this sole source requirement and no other information will be provided. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This requirement is being solicited under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) and FAR 6.302-1. ABB, Inc. is the only company that has the technical proprietary data necessary to provide this part. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all information received within 2 days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A Determination by the Government not to compete as a result of quotes received is solely within the discretion of the Government.
