The U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center, 300 East Main Street, Norfolk, VA, has a requirement to purchase AZIPOD Bearings and parts associated with the Bearings for the USCGC MACKINAW (WLBB 30), home ported in Cheboygan, MI. The Azipods installed aboard the vessel were installed by ABB, Inc. and are a sole source company for the Azipods. The current bearings are currently manufactured by ABB, Inc. for the Azipods; the parts are as follows: Slewing Bearing P/N 3AFV5900579, Support Ring for TU, Propeller Bearing C 3096 KM/VE- P/N 3AFV9877468, Sleeve OH 3098 HB p P/N 3AFA9877468. Under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (a)(1) FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will the satisfy agency requirements. The U.S. Coast guard intends to procure the requirements from ABB, Inc. All responsible sources are encouraged to identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Interested parties must be able supply ALL the parts; the government will not split this requirement. This solicitation is a formal notice of intent to procure the stated parts. No other notice will be published until award is made.
