The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to enter into sole source negotiations with Enersys Corporation, Middletown, NY,  for a quantity of one-hundred-seventy four (174) 10KVA (P/N: XE13X) and fifty-eight (58) 50KVA (P/N:XE70X) batteries in support of US Navy's Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) program.

Significant amounts of time and funding would be required to allow the possibility of utilizing batteries from other companies,as it would entail re-design of the cabinets, re-qualification under functional and environmental testing, and updating all documentation associated with them.

This will be a limited competition procurement between Enersys Corporation and its distributors under NAICS Code: 335911.

The Government does not have the detailed data rights for this effort.  NAWCADLKE intends to procure these items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C ) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1.  No solicitation package is available for this procurement.  All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.  A determination by the Government not to open the requirement based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
