The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Natick Contracting Division, in support of US Army Institute for Environmental Medicine (USARIEM), intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC, located at One Zeiss Dr, Thornwood, NY 10594, under the authority as prescribed in 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The requirement is to procure the Zeiss LSM 700 URBG (405) Two Channel Zen to include: software, fluorescence equipment, transmitted light equipment, DIC accessories, and x-cite light source. The product utilizes a proprietary mainbeam splitter to reduce background noise and provide a linear quantifiable result and wide dynamic range for fluorescent detection, in addition to Variable Secondary Dichroic (VSD) capability, multi-channel acquisition strategies, z-stacks and multi-location imaging. No other product possesses these unique features that enable in-vivo detection of proteins in tissues and cells which is required for our research in the areas of skeletal muscle injury and regeneration.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 and the size standard is 500 employees.
