Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Dr. Dan Holland of New Zealand Seafood Industry for office of Alaska Fisheries Science Center in Seattle, WA. Purpose of proposed contract is for services to assist development and formulation of beneficial and practical research program to address economic benefits and costs of designating essential fish habitat (EFH) and habitat areas of particular concern (HAPC). Proposed contractor is an internationally recognized expert and has extensive experience in addressing economic issues associated with protecting EFH. He has been conducting research on the economics of marine protected areas, fishery area closures and other spatial fishery management. This notice may represent the only official notice. Requests for solicitation will not be honored. This is a simplified acquisition with estimated value of less than $50,000.00
