The Air Force Research Lab/Munitions Directorate/Damage Mechanisms Branch (AFRL/RWMW) seeks to procure up to 8 pure single-crystal zirconium samples for mechanical property characterization having a maximum oxygen content of 150 parts per million. All other trace elements within the sample must have a lower concentration than oxygen. The specimen geometry consists of right circular cylinders with crystal structure aligned relative to the axis of the cylinder. The minimum required dimensions for the sample are 3mm for the diameter and 3mm for the length with a maximum surface roughness of 0.03 microns. Larger samples are preferred. Orientations will include samples with the basal plane normal direction (C axis) oriented parallel to the cylinder axis, and prism plane normal direction oriented parallel to the cylinder axis. Crystalline orientation shall be within 1 degree of a of desired orientation. Chemistry and orientation shall be determined using standard techniques and documentation provided certifying the samples are as requested.
Delivery Requirements: Samples shall be shipped in a manner which prevents damage during transportation. Samples shall be delivered within 4 months after receipt of order (ARO).
Quote: The cost quote/proposal must specify cost and delivery time required and a technical point of contact with email address and phone number.
