The 846th Test Squadron of the 46th Test Group at Holloman AFB, New Mexico intends to issue a sole source contract, Cost Reimbursable, No Fee, to the University of Iowa, College of Engineering, Iowa City, Iowa, for Rainfall Characterization. The effort will include drop size distribution, liquid water content, velocity of drops, rainfall rate, and analysis of rain generating equipment with regards to the rain field located at the Holloman High Speed Test Track. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-3. The University of Iowa is the only known source that currently meets the requirements detailed above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
