NOAA/PMEL has a requirement to monitor, maintain and take samples of the PMEL pCO2 system on the ship Columbus Waikato. Work will include: riding the ship to monitor and maintain underway pCO2 system and to take water and air samples, interact with shipâs crew and owners to maintain interest in project, solicit help when needed, service systems during stops in Long Beach, etc. Period of performance 09/01/2005-08/31/2006. NOAA intends to award on a sole source basis to Southern California Marine Institute (SCMI), Terminal Island, CA. The Southern California Marine Institute (SCMI), is located in Long Beach Harbor which is the starting port for the primary voyage of interest, thus eliminating the travel expense. The ship is in port for 24 hours or less and the schedule can vary such that the time of arrival may not be known a head of time. SCMIâs staff has expert experience operating and setting up the underway pCO2 system and is very familiar with the ship and crew of the COULMBUS WAIKATO. Therefore it is in the governmentâs opinion that SCMI is the only responsible source to complete this work. All responsible parties may submit a bid or proposal to this office. This is a Simplified Acquisition estimated not to exceed the Simplified Acquisition Threshold.
