FedBiZOpps - PRESOLICITATION NOTICE GovWorks is issuing a Request for Proposal on behalf of the USAF Surgeon General's Office, who has a requirement for the design and fabrication personnel to rapidly prototype selected sensor technologies and test them as required. The Air Force requires technical assistance in preparing operational concepts for the laser threat mission area and preparing presentation materials to support coordination meetings. The objective of this task is to provide consultation, analysis and training software, novel sensor architectures, and rapid prototyping and testing of candidate technologies for potential laser hazards. Coordination support is required to advise the DE Task Force and make recommendations about LASINT and protection issues. Furthermore, coordination with a diverse community is needed to implement solutions including development of CONOPS and establishing proper data exploitation tools. The contractor shall develop software to implement a laser threat database including eye safety range issues with and without eye protection. The software will be designed with a graphical user interface to allow operators to quickly select threats and assess their impact for mission planning purposes. The contractor shall populate the database with recent information on lasers with military relevance. A means for adding new sources to the database shall be provided. Short duration (2-3 days) of field testing at military installations could be required. ***The period of performance will be 12 months from the date of award, with one 12 month option period. FOB shall be DESTINATION. The primary place of performance will be the contractor facilities. ***This requirement is being procured using full & open competition.
