Kretzschmar, (256)876-5201, rich.kretz [email protected]; WEB: http://www.redstone .army.mil, Contract POC: Ms. Judy Lundy, AMSAM-AC-RD-BA/Procurement, (256) 876-1430, e-mail: [email protected]. The Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) is seeking sources to assist in the execution of a technology program entitled the Hypersonic Engine Demonstration Program. The purpose of this technology demonstration is to design, develop and demonstrate supersonic combustion ramjet engine components and subsystem technology and to mature and demonstrate related technologies to enhance the operational capability of future Army weapon systems through hypersonic flight capability. System level performance requirements are focused in two distinct areas. First, to provide an axisymm etric, Mach 10, hydrogen fueled scramjet engine compatible with current Army missile launch platforms to address future fires support and air and missile defense missions. Secondly, to provide a gun launched, Mach 5 to 7, hydrocarbon fueled scramjet power ed projectile to enhance the minimum range lethality or significantly increase the range of future Army 120 mm caliber weapons. AMCOM seeks industry cooperation to accelerate the development and demonstration of the following critical technologies to redu ce the technological and program risks: air breathing scramjet engine component design including inlet, combustor and nozzle, innovative fuel injection techniques or methodologies, thermal management materials, active or passive cooling techniques, hyperso nic aerodynamic stability and control, high density, solid grain fuels, innovative fuel injection techniques, high G tolerant navigation electronics, small volume guidance and control mechanisms, advanced computational methods for fluid dynamics or structu ral analysis and hypersonic engine testing options. This technology program is currently funded as a 6-year development and demonstration effort beginning in FY04. This sources sought synopsis is for informational purposes only and is not considered to b e a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to make any awards on the basis of this notification or otherwise pay for any information submitted. Interested/capable sources are requested to submit brief technical capability statements and relevant contract/assistance instrument information within fifteen (15) days from publication of this notice. Of particular interest are the internal technical capabilities of the interested party or applicability of relevant facilities. No addition al information is expected to be made available during the 15 days sources sought period for submission of capability statements. Capability statements may not be submitted by fax; any so sent will be disregarded. Send 5 copies of the written statements to the attention of US Army Aviation and Missile Command, AMSAM-AC-RD-BA (Ms. Judy Lundy), Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898 or e-mailed to Ms. Lundy and or Mr. Kretzschmar.
