Description The Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Md. Campus, intends to negotiate a purchase order with a 3 month period of performance, on a sole source basis, with Scientific Answers and Solutions, Madison, Wisconsin. The Scientific Answers and Solutions possess proprietary knowledge and capabilities that are unique to design a VLS-PGM, variable line spacing plane grating monochromator, beamline for NSLS II. NIST is working an initiative to improve the NIST synchrotron radiation measurement capabilities located at National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS), Brookhaven National Laboratory, NY. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 541712. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
