The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a sole source modification to Contract N00019-00-C-0298 for FY02/03 technical engineering services in support of prototype development/testing of the Mode 5 capability in the Common Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Digital Transponder (CXP) system. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. BAE Systems Aerospace is the sole designer and developer of the CXP system and as such is the sole source with the requisite knowledge to fulfill the specified requirements. Therefore, this acquisition shall be negotiated on a sole source basis with BAE Systems Aerospace, One Hazeltine Way, Greenlawn, NY 11740. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26.
