The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Purchase Order on a sole source basis to ATG Laboratories Group, Inc. to custom baculovirus services to for cloning and expression of viral and bacterial antigens. The contractor will convert our DNA plasmids to live recombinant baculovirus, plaque purify the virus, and grow it up to make virus stocks. The contractor will provide cell lysates for testing protein expression by western blot. They will grow up stocks of the best expressing recombinants and will provide us with titered stocks, which can be used directly for protein expression. They will produce recombinant baculoviruses expressing a variety of protein antigens, and they will retain samples of these recombinants for further expansion. Up to six DNA plasmids at a time will be processed, and up to 16 per month will be made into baculovirus. The viral stocks will be expanded to between 200 ml and 1 l. An award will be made in seven (7) days from the date of this notice. Sources may submit a quote, which fully demonstrate their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
