PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: Request for Comment (RFC) - Extension of Date for Receipt of Comments and Additional Request for Information (Note: this is "Posting # 4. We are also including our prior postings -- # 1, # 2, and #3 -- for the benefit of those who may have missed them. Please also note that the new date for receipt of comments is now 4:00 PM 26 November 2002.) POSTING #4*************************************************POSTING #4 The date for receipt of comments in the below RFC has been extended from 15 November to 4:00 PM 26 November, 2002. Please answer the following question when you submit your comments on the specification and your answer to the first question in "Posting #3 below": "Question: Based on the draft specification that you are currently reviewing, do you believe that you will be able to reasonably price the production units for four year ly options if an RFP for both the basic requirement for development of the AVR and, in addition, four yearly production options were to be released?" Additionally we are requesting that the companies reviewing our specification respond to the following question when they provide their comments: "Question: What do you consider to be the most significant cost driver(s) in the AVR requirements contained in the specification?" POSTING #2************************************************* POSTING #2 The date for receipt of comments in the below RFC has been extended from 25 October until 4:00 PM, 8 November, 2002. POSTING #1************************************************* POSTING #1 The Naval Sea Systems Command is soliciting industry comment on the draft specification for the Automatic Voltage Regulator, synopsized under "Volt Reg" (Classification Code "A") on 25 Sept 2002. The draft specification is classified "Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information - Unclassified," marked NOFORN and cannot be disseminated via the Internet or email. Foreign Nationals, regardless of their clearances or for whom they work are not authorized to view NNPI-U NOFORN data. Companies that are interested in receiving a copy of the specification for comment (provided on a CD in Word 8.0 format), are asked to contact one of the below POCs via email or phone to make arrangements to mail or deliver the CD. Requests should include the name of the Company, the person to whom the CD should be sent, the address and phone number. Requests for the draft Specification will be accepted until 4PM on 09 October 2002. Comments should be returned to the POCs below no later than 25 October 2002 via mail or delivery.
