The U.S. Army Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD) is seeking information on potential technologies and approaches for the collaborative development and demonstration of enhanced rotorcraft survivability components. These requested technol ogies should address detection of and countermeasures to ground based threat systems, including small arms, RPG and MANPADS. Anticipated technologies include, but are not limited to threat warning, threat location, signature control, threat jamming, vehic le hardening, and lethal and non-lethal countermeasures. The Army is interested in alternate, innovative approaches and technologies to achieve enhanced platform survivability with minimal weight and cost burden. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only. Information submitted should provide an expression of the level of interest in collaborative development and sufficient detail in the contractors potential approaches, technologies, capabilities and past relevant experience to all ow the Government to assess the credibility of the concepts. This request is for purposes of exchanging information to improve understanding of the Government requirements and industry capability. This announcement should not be construed as a commitment by the Government. Any information submitted by industry will not constitute an offer which could be accepted by the Government to create a binding contract. Responses are requested by 30 April, 2005.
