The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, intends to award a single-source contract to George C. Greene, Hampton, Virginian, for support services to provide Wake Turbulence Technical Consulting Services for technical expertise and consulting services in support to the Flight Standards Service Management Operations Branch of the FAA's Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. This procurement is considered to be single source based on the requirement of demonstrated technical expertise and analytical experience in the science of wake turbulence and wake vortex analysis, extensive knowledge of separation standards for large and new aircraft including A380, B747-800, B787, and very light jet aircraft, expertise and ability to evaluate existing aircraft wake categories and determine the need to establish new categories for existing and future aircraft, expertise and ability to evaluate aircraft and their response to wake encounter and determine acceptable levels of risk of wake encounter, and expertise and ability to review new technologies and recommend implementation for the avoidance of wake encounters.
Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single-source procedures.
