In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration Acquisition Management System (FAA AMS) paragraph 3.2.2.4- Single Source Selection Procurement Process, Subpart 3.2.2.4.1.2, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the FAAââ¬â¢s intent to contract with a selected firm using single source procedures. The FAA intends to award a Purchase Order to NovAtel, Inc. for the purchase of WAAS Enable Receivers, brand name only part numbers PROPAK-G2-DB9-L1L2W, GPS-702, and directional dish antenna to receive WAAS signal for timing for the Aircraft Geometric Height Measurement Element constellation. NovAtel Inc. holds the patent for the WAAS timing technology. This is a unique system, which passively measures aircraft geometric height from a transponded Mode S message. Because of the dependencies between the components within the integrated design, this source represents the only manufacturer that meets the design requirements for building the AGHME system.
