The YWCA of Greater Los Angeles is an Equal Opportunity Employer and operates the Los Angeles Job Corps Center (LAJCC) under contract with the U.S. Department of Labor. The YWCA has a requirement to request proposals to operate the Food Service subcontract for the LAJCC.The LAJCC will provide the kitchen and dining facility in two different locations. The subcontractor shall provide the materials, requisitioning, receiving, storing and preparation of all food stuff, and all necessary personnel to operate the Food Service subcontract, as well as serving well-balanced, nutritious meals in a dining environment which is clean, sanitary, attractive and pleasant for students, staff and visitors. Prepare and service 21 meals per week, Monday through Sunday, consisting approximately of 280 people for breakfast, 400 people for lunch, and 370 people for dinner, plus special meal requests for events or occasiones. Subcontractor must be business licensed and have a Public Health Permit for the County of Los Angeles, and be bonded. Subcontractor must provide salary and fringe benefit plan, and FTE breakdown by staff category. The LAJCC will provide an office, furniture, equipment and all utilities at no cost to the subcontractor, to conduct business related to the Food Service subcontract. The facilities for the cafeteria, kitchen and storage areas shall comply with local and Federal Health and Safety regulations. Mandatory Pre-Bid conference will be held at the LAJCC on March 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., 1106 South Broadway Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90015. A bid package will be provided at the conference. Bids must be received by March 24, 2006. The Food Service subcontract will be awarded for the period of May 1, 2006 through April 30, 2008.
