The U.S. Geological Survey intends to solicit and negotiate via RFQ with Heska Corporation of Fort Collins, CO, for the construction of a recombinant raccoon poxvirus vector expressing Yersinia pestis Antigens F1 and V to be delivered three months from date of award. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; NO COMPETITIVE RFQ WILL BE AVAILABLE. Heska Corporation is uniquely qualified to provide this service due to their unique reagents and capabilities for constructing the vaccine desired. Heska Corporation solely maintains the plasmids and the modified raccoon pox virus they initially developed to tranfer the genetic elements from Yersinia pestis to raccoon pox virus so addition of a second genetic element can proceed quickly. This award will be made on or about the 5th Calendar day from the date this announcement appears. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 325414. Interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond. However, all responsible sources may submit a bid within five days after the date of publication of this announcement which will be considered by the Government. A determination not to continue with this acquisition based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. No additional synopsis will be published.
