The Tahoe National Forest intends to award a single source contract to NITON LLC for one NITON XLi 722, Bulk Sample analyzer. The following are critical requirements:
1. The instrument must comply with EPA Method 6200, weigh under 2 lbs. with a touch screen display that provides ppm concentrations as well as spectra (for ease of field use) and demonstrate ELPAT proficiency with prepared soil samples.
2. It must be able to detect 160ppm Cr, 230ppm Mn, 230ppm Fe, 230ppm Co, 75ppm Ni, 75ppm Cu, 60ppm Zn, 12ppm As, 10ppm Se, 15ppm Pb, 18ppm Hg, 7ppm Rb, 15ppm Sr, 18ppm Zr, 10ppm U, 50ppm Cd, 130ppm Ag, 80ppm Ba, 180ppm Sn, 35ppmSb in prepared soil samples in 60 seconds without site specific calibration.
Any vendor wishing to offer a competing product must submit specification sheets that clearly identify the productâs ability to meet the critical requirements. All such information (plus the delivered price) must be received no later than 5 p.m. PDT August 25, 2003, at the following address:
