Purpose
An upgrade to our hand-held radio system is needed. The Police does not currently have enough radios to issue to each officer. The XTS 5000 batteries are not holding a charge for the entire shift. There are times that there are not enough usable radios for the shift that is working. Current radio will need a flash upgrade when state moves to the P25 network.
