The Naval Postgraduate School is requesting a quote for the following:
The contractor shall provide all parts, materials, equipment, and delivery of one Scribeless cleaving instrument.
The objective of the research project is to fabricate a miniature directional sound sensor, based on the hearing system of the Ormia Ochracea, capable of detecting sound bursts as low as 30 dB and angles of arrival with resolution better than 5 degrees. This technology uses MEMS and most of the capability to perform this fabrication is already available at the NPS microfabrication facility (clean room). One missing instrument is a sample cleaver, which cleaves the wafer where the sensors are fabricated and separate the sensors for characterization and operation.
Therefore it is necessary to acquire a cleaving instrument (scribeless dicer) with the following minimal technical requirements.
