In vivo imaging acquisition and analysis techniques have advanced dramatically in recent years, and these approaches have proved particularly informative for research in nonhuman primate models, where animals availability, logistical and ethical considerations constrain experimental designs. In addition, the widespread utilization of vivo imaging in human research provides a basis for direct comparison with observations in experimental nonhuman primate models, enhancing translational potential. Unfortunately, there is currently no on-site instrumentation or support for in vivo imaging research at the NIH Animal Center. This represents a significant limitation to effectively capitalizing on the unique animal resources of the NIH, and it is a significant obstacle toward advancing translation research initiatives of the NIA and other ICs.Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
