The Government requires husbanding services for the country of Barbados. The services required are for the following port: Bridgetown, for support services for various types of U.S. Navy and other U.S. Government vessels. The majority of the requirements will come from vessels involved in the annual UNITAS operation. U.S. Navy vessels expected to utilize the resultant contract include Class I (small craft ships with 40 crewmembers or less) up to Class V (aircraft carriers). Services will consist of trash removal, collection/holding/transfer (CHT) sewage removal, waste oil and aggregate water removal, fresh potable water, pilotage, tugboat services, linehandler services, crane services, brow (gangway) rental, cargo drayage/free time/demurrage/detention services, water taxi services, vehicle rental (sedans and buses), paint float rental, forklift services, telephone services (landline and cellular), administration/coordination of airport services, administration/coordination of passenger handling, and disaster/humanitarian relief services as detailed in the statement of work included in solicitation N00189-02-R-0017. Services required are a follow-on to current contract N00189-00-D-0019 which expires 23 November 2002. The solicitation will include provisions for a base year with the option to procure services for two (2) additional one-year periods. The solicitation will contain clause 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services. Solicitation issuance is anticipated as 7 May 2002.
