This is a pre-solicitation notice of the intent to conduct a commercial item acquisition. The Solicitation, Evaluation, and Award procedures of FAR Part 13.106-1, 13.106-2, and 13.106-3 are being used. The United States Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement to purchase the following: HATCH, 24 ½” x 24 ½”, Brand Name: Freeman Marine Equipment Hatch Drawing No. 205 or Equal, estimated quantity is two per year except for option year two when the estimated quantity is four per year. HATCH, 36” x 36”, Brand Name: Freeman Marine Equipment Hatch Drawing No. 205 or Equal estimated quantity is two per year except for option year two when the estimated quantity is four per year. HATCH, 24” X 30”, Brand Name: Freeman Marine Equipment Hatch Drawing No. 211 or Equal estimated quantity is two per year except for option year two when the estimated quantity is four per year. Each Hatch being purchased hereunder shall be provided with Commercial Data for Provisioning (Base Year only), and Commercial Warranties. This acquisition is being conducted on a Brand Name or Equal basis. A requirements contract will be awarded as a result of this competition. The award will provide for a base and four one-year options. The estimated quantities per year are estimates only and the estimates are subject to change. The details of the salients will be included in RFQ HSCG40-04-Q-41931. A complete description of the contract line items and times of delivery will be included in the RFQ. All responsible sources for the Brand Name or Equal items are invited to submit a quotation/proposal, which shall be considered by the US Coast Guard. All technical data required to respond to the solicitation will be furnished as part of the RFQ. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. A solicitation is forth coming and will be released on or about 03 September 2004.
