The intent of this Solicitation and any resultant contract is to obtain lodging/training/office space/exercise facilities and optional food services for a highly trained and specialized firefighting crew of approximately 17 individuals to be located within 45 miles of downtown Asheville, North Carolina. The period of occupancy will be from early January through late May of each year commencing in 2006. The contract will contain a Base Period and four (4) option periods of 1 year each. Due to the nature of the work the firefighting crew does and the fact that the crew’s travel depends on weather conditions and fire danger across the United States, the crew could spend the entire time at the contracted facilities or be away for a considerable time. Over the past 17 years, the crew dispatched away for an average of 60 days of the total 125-day period.The solicitation will be posted by COB on July 28, 2005.
