This is an amendment to announcement 4091 posted on 3/31/2005. The proposed contract to purchase Ameritec Responders for voice and data transmission line testing will be a small business set-aside. The proposed contract will have an estimated value of $253,000 for the purchase and delivery of one order. This FAA purchase is expected to consist of approximately one-hundred twenty-five (125) Ameritec AM3-4P Stand alones, two-hundred sixty-three (263) Ameritec AM3-4P-PC Cards, seventeen (17) Ameritec Card Files, and seventeen (17) Ameritec Power Supplies. The Ameritec Model AM3 Series Responders provide the capability to centrally test voice and data telecommunications lines without dispatching a technician to the remote end of a circuit, see specifications attached. The AM3 reacts to commands, sent by Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) digits from a central location, by sending over the circuit under test a known signal or sequence of test tones or by quiet termination of the circuit. The FAA must purchase AM3 Responders for the following reasons: 1. AM3 has been used for 15 years across the U.S. and due to the need for compatibility of new and replacement parts the FAA must use Ameritec responders; 2. The responders are needed immediately.
