SIR DESCRIPTION: The Federal Aviation Administration, Western-Pacific Region has a requirement for installation of fiber optic cable and conduit at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, NV. The purpose of this announcement is to identify firms who have respective capability and extensive experience as the prime contractor in projects of this size and nature. The FAA hereby publicly announces that it will issue Solicitation Request for Offer DTFAWP-04-R-00433. The purpose of this project is to establish a Fiber Optic Cable Loop which connects all radar, communications, Navaids facilities on-or-related to the airport and homeruns to the ATCT in a loop configuration. The work includes: 1) Installation of concrete encased underground duct bank. This new duct bank system consists of (1 to 4) 4-inch PVC conduit. Approximate length of new duct bank: 17,000 ft. 2) Installation of new airport rated manholes. Number of manholes: 45 3) Installation of new traffic rated manholes. Number of manholes: 3 4) installation of two fiber optic cables with innerducts (in both new and existing duct bank). One fiber is for the Radar/comm facilities, one for the Navaids facilities. - Approximate length for Radar/Comm fiber and innerduct: 24,000 ft. - Approximate length for Navaids fiber and innterduct: 45,000 ft. 5. Installation of pull boxes (24" x 24" x 8"). Number of pull boxes: 6 6. Installation of conduit, ground conductor, etc... at various facilities. All work shall be in strict accordance with FAA specifications and drawings. A mandatory job walk will be held on a date to be announced later. Interested contractor are hereby being solicited for this project and will be added to a "Bidder's Mailing List." Request for solicitation must be received at the designated office no later than 01:00 p.m. (pacific time) December 15, 2004. Any request for solicitation received after this date, regardless of how transmitted will not be honored.
