This announcement is for the purchase of up to 30 commercially available, off-the-shelf Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell Systems in the power range from 1kw to 4kw. The fuel cells will be used to meet the backup power needs of the FAA, will be fueled by industrial grade hydrogen gas, and be capable of providing 24 to 72 hours of continuous backup power. The FAA is seeking PEM fuel cell manufacturers with an established history of building, installing and maintaining hydrogen powered PEM fuel systems. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)size standard code for this procurement is 33599. The FAA intends to use commercial and simplified procurment procedures for this acquisition.
