The FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center intends to award a sole source contract to Aydin Displays Inc., 1 Riga Lane, Birdsboro, PA 19508 to support baseline equipment, developing and testing for Advanced Electronic Flight Strip System (AEFS) for the Chicago O'Hare modernization project. The procurement includes LCD touch screen monitors with the following characteristics: LCD Display type, 21.3" display size, Capacitive Touch Interface (NEMA rated - roughness compatibility), Desktop mounting with VESA mounting system for thin client co-location, Dual brightness and contrast controls (both on-screen & physical control buttons), DVI video I/O with DVI 129 pin & DB15, and 1600x1200 resolution. The FAA has investigated other sources for consideration; however, at this time, Aydin is the only touch screen that has been able to meet the functional criteria required to work with AEFS. The continuation of this project is contingent upon the acquisition of these displays.
The FAA intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for these procurement.
