The FAA intends to purchase 24 semiflush flashers, P/N 1440.02.050, with options for up to an additional 30 units, on a single source basis from Siemens Airfield Solutions, Columbus, Ohio. The flashers are an essential component of an ALSF-2 semiflush flasher kit developed by New Bedford Panoramex to meet existing contract requirements for ALSF-2 installations where airfield topography requires a combination of semiflush and elevated flashers. The Siemens part was tested by an independent testing service to demonstrate compliance with photometric requirements of FAA-E-2628b and is integral to the design of the ALSF-2 kit.
