The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award an 18 month contract under $500,000 to Luciad NV to provide the Systems Operations Airspace and AIM Office, Aeronautical Information Management Group, AJR-32, with custom software that is capable of viewing Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) v5 XML data that can be distributed to individual users internationally. The Aeronautical Information Exchange Model v5 (AIXM5) is an XML exchange model that is designed to convey aeronautical data between computer systems. The standard has been constructed to facilitate international communication of aeronautical information as the world moves towards more open exchange of data. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Manangement System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform the industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures.
