The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 8), James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH), Tampa, FL, intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for Bulk Salt with estimated quantity is 650 tons per year based on 26 weeks. Delivery of 25 Tons every two weeks to Mechanical Room Bldg. 100. Each delivery is up to 25 Tons (capacity of the tank) PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: See Statement of Need. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONAL NEEDS/ SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Contractor shall provide the brand name of the salt to be provided, such as brand name or salt contents. The salt is delivered inside the tanker-style trailer. The trailer has a discharge pipe in the rear end and a hose is connected to it and then to the inlet pipe on the CEP building. The salt is then pumped into the brine tanks by use of the tractor that is pulling the trailer via a pneumatic PTO system. Delivery shall occur within 5 days after receipt of the order from the government s point of contact.
