Sources Sought for Static Dissipater Additive The Air Force Petroleum Office, Weapon Systems Support Branch at Wright- Patterson AFB is seeking potential sources of Static Dissipater Additive (SDA) for military grade jet fuel (JP-8). There is currently no impending requirement for the Additive, only a necessity to establish a Qualified Products List. The Weapon Systems Support Branch of the Air Force Petroleum Office (AFPET) is seeking to qualify additional sources of an SDA for JP-8. Each potential SDA will be tested for qualification. Once qualification testing has been passed, the additive will be placed on a qualified product list (QPL) for approved SDA sources for use with JP-8. Potential sources must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for the qualification process: Must have an additive which has already been fully developed and is ready for testing; the Government does not intend to support any development effort for new additives. If qualified, the vendor must be able to begin full production immediately. The additive must be able to increase the electrical conductivity of non-additized JP-8 (at the refinery) from 0-50 ps/m to 150-450 ps/m. Potential vendors must be willing to send background information on their SDA such as MSDS, complete chemical compound make-up, and the results of any vendor testing upon request to the AFPET The qualification process is expected to begin in Nov 2005.
