This synopsis is notification of Agency intent to extend contract DECA02-97-D-0018 for a period of three months starting 01 November 2003 and ending 31 January 2004, to the incumbent contractor, Tony's Fine Foods, 3575 Reed Avenue, West Sacramento, CA 95606-1501. A competitive contract was originally awarded in May 1997 for in-store deli/bakery operations at military commissaries located at Port Hueneme NS and Vandenberg AFB, California. The extension will be performed under the same terms and conditions as the existing contract. The contract type is a requirements contract with a fixed percentage of savings to the patron. The extension will provide uninterrupted services of the delicatessen and/or bakery resale operations pending the award of the new competitive contract. This action is accomplished under the authority cited in 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this extension period would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the contract will be extended without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this contract extension period based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
