The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) has a requirement in support of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) to purchase small laboratory research animals (ferrets) to support basic research and Good Laboratory Practices/Food and Drug Administration (GLP/FDA) studies. These animals may be used in conditions ranging from Animal Biosafety Level 2 (ABSL-2) through Animal Biosafety Level 4 (ABSL-4).
The Government intends to award a single Blanket Purchase Agreements with a period of performance of a five(5) year ordering period.

In order to continue to be a world renown research facility, these ferrets need to be provided by reputable, Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International(AAALAC) accredited vendors and in good health and free of disease. Furthermore, these AAALAC accredited vendors should have a record of providing these types of products for greater than five (5) years to ensure the operation has provided a quality product.
