The National Cancer Institute - Frederick (NCI-F) intends to negotiate, under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, a modification to its five (5) year Contract N02-CM-32400 with Taconic Farms, Inc. for the Maintenance of a Rodent Production Center. The contract currently provides Athymic NCr nu/nu pathogen free rodents for research. The planned negotiated modification will provide for an extension of the contract for one (1) additional year. The NCI-Frederick is currently in the process of relocating its primary animal production facilities. It is expected that the physical relocation of these facilities will negatively impact rodent production, and the extension of this already established contract will aid in offsetting that expected decrease in rodent production.
