The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award on a sole source basis a Purchase Order to the Caribbean Primate Research Center, University of Puerto Rico, Sabana Seca, Puerto Rico. The purchase is for Male and Female, Indian origin Rhesus Macaques. This is the only known primate research center that has Indian origin Rhesus Macaques. By virtue, the Caribbean Primate Research Center, University of Puerto Rico is uniquely qualified and capable of carrying out the requirements of this proposed purchase order. The anticipated award date is August 2, 2005. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide this requirement are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification, as well as, a capability statement to the contracting office by August 1, 2005. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed actions based on responses to this notice is solely within its discretion. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
